UPDATE from the County Commission Meeting:
Because design documents are outdated, the project may not qualify under ARRA and has been taken of the preliminary list of priorities for adoption. The County Commission today, however, affirmed their commitment to the project and will still try to seek the project's inclusion at the April 30 meeting of the CORE/MPO that will prioritize the ARRA funds. They also affirmed that in the absence of that funding, they are committed to moving the project forward by this fall and will provide additional local matching funds if necessary. Considering that there is some bad news there, I think it is the best possible outcome we could hope for.

Our thanks especially to Commissioners Pat Shay and Helen Stone for their strong support, as well as Assistant County Manager Pat Monahan's work in pushing this project, which has been a long time in coming, forward.
